ARLINGTON, VA (April 19, 2017) — The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), the nation’s leading healthcare organization dedicated to bone health, has named Catrell Harris as its new Director of Science and Education. Harris is a seasoned nonprofit industry veteran with in-depth health experience and a track record of delivering profitable, innovative solutions to business challenges.
Harris joins NOF from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) where he was the Director of Education and served as the staff lead to the Board of Directors and Education Council responsible for achieving the organization’s education and training goals, as well as maintaining its Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accreditation and ensuring that all programs complied with relevant ethical and legal standards.
Prior to AHP, Harris was the Senior Director, Patient Programs and Services at the Aplastic Anemia & Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) International Foundation where he directed the implementation of educational solutions to help patients and caregivers affected with aplastic anemia, MDS and Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH). Harris has also held positions at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Urological Association and received an Outstanding Performance Award during his tenure with NIH.

As NOF’s Director of Science and Education, Harris will provide strategic leadership for the educational and research missions of the organization and has broad responsibility and oversight for NOF’s professional and educational programs, materials and services.
Harris received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, a Master of Public Health from American Public University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education from the American College of Education.
